Young The Giant

California rockers Young the Giant have returned with the new single "Simplify" out now via Fueled By Ramen/Roadrunner. With this song, Young the Giant bring fans the expansive, guitar-heavy sound they've loved since their self-titled debut in 2010. The Alex Salibian-produced track looks to the simple human need for eye contact as solace for these technologically influenced times. "Staring into your eyes, everything simplifies," front-man Sameer Gadhia sings sweetly in the chorus.
When asked about the inspiration for “Simplify,” Gadhia explained, "Everything in modern life is complicated. We construct images of how life should be lived: how to act, dress, tweet, and vote, and often times it is easy to lose your true self to the images we create for all to see," he continued before explaining how love is at the root of everything. "But love is simple, and to love someone is to love all of humanity. It is the closest thing to truth, and even though love can be compromising, painful, and exhausting, we can only see our truest selves in the eyes of another. This is the essence of ‘Simplify'"
Young the Giant was formed in Irvine, California, in 2004. The band's line-up consists of Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass guitar) and Francois Comtois (drums). In 2009, they released their eponymous debut album in 2010. The band's first three singles, "My Body", "Cough Syrup" and "Apartment" all charted on the US Alternative Songs chart. They followed this album up with “Mind Over Matter” in 2014 and then “Home of the Strange” in 2016.
In addition to the new song, the band’s upcoming tour dates follow their previously announced appearances at festivals this summer and fall. Young the Giant’s headlining tour begins October 25th in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and will conclude on November 16th in Washington.
