“Back Down” is the latest single from the Grammy-winning duo, Bob Moses. It will be on their second album called “Battle Lines” due out on September 14th via Domino Records. They recorded the new album in Los Angeles’ Laurel Canyon, after writing and testing out new material on the road. Inspired by their time playing raves and rock clubs all over the globe since the release of “Days Gone By,” “Battle Lines” takes a harder look at the world in which they find themselves.
The pair tells explains that “This record is about the battles and struggles we all live through...Battles within ourselves, battles with and within our society, battles between each other, with our loved ones, battles between ideologies. It’s also about struggling to identify where those battles lines start and end, and what within us and within our environments cause these struggles, and ultimately cause our suffering. It’s also about the struggle to reconcile with those things, somehow.”
The band consists of Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance who are both from Vancouver, British Columbia. It was until they moved to Brooklyn, New York that they formed Bob Moses in 2012. Their debut album, “Days Gone By,” was released in 2015. "Tearing Me Up" became the most prominent song on the album, earning them a Grammy Award.
Starting on September 21st in Sacramento, California, Bob Moses will head out on a 29-date trek, named the “Battle Lines Tour.” It will see the band along with support act Mansionair visiting most major cities around the U.S. and Canada, with notable scheduled stops at venues like Denver’s Gothic Theatre and New York’s Brooklyn Steel. They’ll close out the run with a show at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium on November 16th.
