“Now Or Never Now” is the first official single from the Canadian band, Metric. It can be found on their newest and seventh album released on September 21st via MMI titled “Art Of Doubt.”
Metric’s Emily Haines said, "When you’re suddenly confronted with the fact that you’re rapidly running out of time to take action in your life, it isn’t always pretty. You can no longer afford the luxury of words like “eventually”, or indulge in the usual superficial fixes.'Now Or Never Now’ is the song for anyone who has stagnated, paralyzed by past failures (real or imagined), in a state of regret. It’s the song for that point when you realize there’s no escaping what you’re trapped in unless you’re willing to get hurt again. Everything sucks in an exhilarating way. There’s nothing left to do but start over."
The new collection marks Metric’s first album since 2015’s “Pagans In Vegas.” The band recorded the album at their own Giant Studio in Toronto with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen.
Metric was founded in 1998 in Toronto, Ontario. The band is currently made up of Emily Haines (lead vocals, synthesizers, guitar, tambourine, harmonica, piano), James Shaw (guitar, synthesizers, theremin, backing vocals), Joshua Winstead (bass, synthesizers, backing vocals) and Joules Scott-Key (drums, percussion). Their first official studio album, “Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?,” was released in 2003. It was followed by the albums “Live It Out” (2005), “Grow Up And Blow Away” (2007), “Fantasies” (2009), “Synthetica” (2012), “Pagans In Vegas” (2015) and finally their latest “Art Of Doubt” (2018).
Metric spent much of the summer supporting Smashing Pumpkins on their “Shiny And Oh So Bright” tour. The band is currently on a European run but will be returning to the U.S. in November for a long tour that doesn’t end until March.
