Matt Maeson
Jan 10, 2019
“Cringe” is a song from the singer-songwriter Matt Maeson. It can be found on his debut EP, “Who Killed Matt Maeson,” out now via Neon Gold/Atlantic Records. The track’s video shows a battered and bloodied portrait of the musician, laying bare struggles with faith as he slowly, triumphantly surmounts the odds. The EP is a six-song collection that blends giant pop hooks, foot-stomping nods to roots music and alt-rock leaning production. He has since released “The Hearse,” which contain songs that are heavy, with a raw honesty that’s undeniably beautiful.
Despite being from Virginia Beach, VA, Maeson grew up traveling through the American heartland, writing songs that try to make sense of the downtrodden, backbreaking whole. Born to parents who belonged to Christian heavy metal bands, the singer got his first taste of live performance when he toured through prisons with his local ministry.
This February and into March, Matt Maeson will be touring throughout the U.S. in support of his newest music.
