The Blue Stones

The Blue Stones have put out a new single called "Shakin' Off the Rust." Out now via eOne, this track will be on their as yet untitled upcoming sophomore album due out in 2020. For this new collection, they worked with producer and frequent twenty one pilots collaborator and MUTEMATH front-man, Paul Meany.
“There were times along the way where I felt I wasn’t good enough, “ explains The Blue Stones member Tarek Jafar of the new single. “Or that I didn’t deserve any happiness or success. This song is about battling those thoughts in your head that make you doubt yourself, and coming through with the confidence to make something great.”
The Blue Stones is a Canadian duo made up of Tarek Jafar and Justin Tessier. Following the success of their 2018 debut album, “Black Holes,” they found success that lead to them sharing the stage with the likes of grandson, Welshly Arms and Reignwolf. As they began working on new music, The Blue Stones caught the attention of producer, Paul Meany (Mutemath, twenty one pilots), with whom they would eventually enter the studio with this past summer. Working with Meany lead to The Blue Stones exploring – and creating – music in a different way than they had before, and led to a new approach by Jafar when it came to tackling lyrics. The result was the band truly discovering who they were during the writing process.
“Even though some of these songs sound different,” explains Jafar, “at the end of the day we stayed true to who we are as The Blue Stones. So even if the songs border on a different genre, you’re still going to get us, because it’s still us writing the songs and performing the songs. We have a vision that we’ve been focused on since we started this band and that hasn’t changed.”
