Taylor Janzen
Jan 17, 2020

The emerging indie artist Taylor Janzen recently put out her track, "What I Do..." It is her first single under Glassnote Records. The catchy, pop-inspired track reflects on the singer-songwriter's self-sabotaging actions in a relationship.
“’What I Do’ is a song I wrote about being in a serious relationship and suddenly realizing that your issues are affecting someone else for the first time, and not entirely knowing how to change that. Musically, it’s a bit of a departure from my previous songs, so for the music video we decided to show how one artist can explore many different forms as that’s always something that should be celebrated. Asking someone to define their genre is like asking someone what their high school clique was, entirely outdated and a little dumb. So that’s exactly what we decided to show in the video.”
Janzen was discovered by Glassnote President and Founder Daniel Glass in April 2019 while shooting the music video for the title track of her EP “Shouting Matches.” The up-and-coming singer has already earned praises from Hayley Williams of Paramore, and is planning to release new music with producer Joe Chiccarelli, who is known for his work with The White Stripes, Alanis Morissette and The Strokes. The Winnipeg artist has previously put out the EP “Shouting Matches” last year.
The singer is currently on tour in Canada but will be coming to the U.S. this Spring where she will be heading out on SiriusXM presents Alt Nation’s Advance Placement Tour. The tour is now in its sixth year of curation by SiriusXM’s Alt Nation and continues its commitment to finding and exposing the new artists that are pushing the sound of Alternative music forward in 2020.
