Beady Eye

Beady Eye is Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, and Andy Bell from Oasis. Dangerbird Records will release the debut album from Beady Eye on March 1. Different Gear, Still Speeding features 13 brand new songs written by the band and recorded at RAK Studios in London last fall with GRAMMY Award-winning producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Dave Matthews Band, The Smiths).
"We love music," enthuses Liam Gallagher, Beady Eye's lead singer. "We've got these songs, we go in and we do them. We're fired up, not because we thought we'd show everyone it could happen without you know who [Noel Gallagher], we're fired up because we're doing music."
"Like just about everyone else on the planet, I've been a fan of Liam's voice since I first heard it, and I'm thrilled to be a part of his evolution as an artist," Jeff Castelaz, CEO of Dangerbird said. "Beady Eye is a fresh new act with its own sound, and we're honored to have them join Dangerbird's gang."
In addition to the U.S. and Canadian releases on Dangerbird Records, Different Gear, Still Speeding will be released worldwide outside of North America on the band's own Beady Eye Records, and boasts "The Roller" as its first official single, now impacting Alternative.
Liam cites the Rolling Stones as a big influence. "Yeah, the Stones were a big one on this record," says Liam. "We were listening to them a lot. We don't go off road and say, 'let's make a f**king Captain Beefheart record', this is what we do."
"The La's are a big one too," added Andy, "they are one of the greatest bands, a musical touchstone."
Previously, the first music from Beady Eye was released online last fall, with "Bring the Light" downloaded or played more than 350,000 times in 24 hours.
Beady Eye's inaugural European Tour in March this year sold out within 30 minutes of going on sale. They will be joined by Matt Jones on keyboards and Jeff Wootton on bass for these dates. U.S. dates are in the works and being finalized now.
