Arctic Monkeys
Apr 18, 2011
Arctic Monkeys announced that they will release their fourth album on June 7th. The record, titled Suck It And See, will come via Domino Records.
Arctic Monkeys are Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O'Malley and Matt Helders.
Drummer Matt Helders said of the album title: "To us, it sounds like an atypical British thing. I don't think it's a saying that people worldwide would use or even understand. In America people will probably interpret it as rude. Which is fine, it's quite funny".
The album, produced in Los Angeles by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco), will feature 12 new tracks, one of which the band has already leaked. The song, "Brick By Brick," appeared in a teaser video and sounds like a slight departure from the group's usually angular vibe.
The first single to be released from the new album, "Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair" was made available digitally on April 11th.
Arctic Monkeys also announced a North American headlining tour, which kicks off on May 17th in Washington, D.C., wrapping up on June 3rd in Los Angeles. The band haven't performed in North America since criss-crossing the country in the wake of the release of Humbug, their acclaimed third album.
