Sublime with Rome
May 9, 2011
Sublime With Rome have announced tour dates for their "Unity Tour 2011? w/311. The tour, set to begin on July 8th in Kansas, will end August 26th in Seattle, WA.
The band recently signed to Fueled by Ramen, who will be releasing their first album under the "Sublime" moniker since Bradley Nowell's passing in 1996.
The trio is hard at work at Sonic Ranch studio in El Paso, TX with producer Paul Leary, who produced the original Sublime's 1996 debut. Specifics are still forthcoming, but the group plans to release the record this summer through their new label. According to lead lead singer Rome Ramirez, the trio will also soon announce a supporting world tour.
Sublime With Rome singer/guitarist Rome said: "We're so excited to hit the US with 311. We'll have our album out and will be playing new original songs alongside the fan favorites. This will be an epic tour that will forever be remembered. Can't wait for summer!"
311 bassist P-Nut added: "This is the tour we've been waiting for!"
311 vocalist Nick Hexum said: "Summer Unity in full effect! We're thrilled that Sublime with Rome is on the 2011 Unity Tour. 311 & Sublime With Rome seems like the perfect outdoor summer party. The 311 Nation is growing stronger every day and we're excited to see you all at the shows!"
Sublime With Rome, comprised of drummer Bud Gaugh and bass player Eric Wilson, both founding members of the legendary ska-punk band, Sublime, alongside gifted singer/guitarist Rome, are currently in the studio with producer Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers, Sublime, Meat Puppets) working on their highly anticipated debut album, due out this summer.
Sublime with Rome first came together in 2009 for a series of high-profile shows before embarking on a worldwide headline tour that drew packed houses and rave reviews at every stop, as well as an electrifying national television performance on the outdoor stage at ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
Sublime with Rome carries on the legacy of Sublime, without question one of the most successful and influential ska-punk bands of all time achieving worldwide sales in excess of 17 million, fueled by radio smashes as "Date Rape," "What I Got," and "Santeria", while also carving out its own place in the musical landscape. Though a relative newcomer, 22-year old Rome has already scored a bonafide hit of his own, co-writing and lending his distinctive voice to The Dirty Heads' recent #1 Alternative rock hit, "Lay Me Down."
Over the past several years, Unity Tour has included Snoop Dogg, The Offspring, Matisyahu, The Wailers and The Roots. Unity Tour 2011 featuring 311 & Sublime With Rome should be the biggest and best yet.
The single, "Panic" is now impacting Alternative.
