The Horrors are a band from Southend on Sea, England formed in 2005. Skying, self-produced and recorded in The Horrors' own self-built studio in London's Dalston, was mixed by Grammy Award winner Craig Silvey. Skying is the band's third long player, and follows 2009's Mercury Prize nominated Primary Colours and their debut, Strange House, which was released in 2007.
The first single off Skying, titled "Still Life," premiered on the May 24th on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show. On July 4th, The Horrors started streaming the album on their website . The US release date is August 9th.
The Horrors lineup of Faris Badwan (vocals), Tom Furse (keys), Joshua Third (guitar), Rhys Webb (bass, keys and coffin), and Joe (drums) will unveil a selection of new tracks when they hit our shores for a North American tour in September.
A track included on the new album, "Endless Blue", was first unveiled at Latitude Festival in July 2010. The band will headline the Festival Republic Stage at the Reading and Leeds festivals in August and they have been chosen to perform at the ATP I'll Be Your Mirror festival curated by ATP & Portishead in September in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
