New Politics
Jan 14, 2013

New Politics return with their sophomore album due this Spring. They've recently released a high-energy, thumping new single called "Harlem." It's a shouty, rowdy, and at times anthemic rock song. Lead vocalist David Boyd strikes the perfect balance between melodic pop singer and a fierce rocker as he sings about the hot babes living uptown.
The three piece originally from Copenhagen, Denmark consists of Boyd, Søren Hansen (guitarist), and Louis Vecchio (drummer). After writing songs together for three years for their respective solo albums (which were never produced), Boyd and Hansen realized that they had a group forming. In 2009, the duo sent in two of their songs ("Stress" and "Money") into the Danish National Radio P3's Karriere Kanonen ("Career Cannon") competition. Of the 973 bands that entered, New Politics was one of 42 selected to perform. They went on to be among the top four winners and later played in a major music festival in Denmark. Eventually, in November 2009, New Politics signed with RCA and relocated to New York.
They are most known for their debut hit single, "Yeah Yeah Yeah" from their self-titled debut album in 2010. They embarked on a 30-date tour of the US to promote the album and supported 30 Seconds to Mars on the Into The Wild Tour in September and October 2010.
