Feb 10, 2013

The French turntable quartet, C2C released their first EP, Down the Road on January 23rd 2012 and their first album, Tetra (stylized as Tetr4) on September 3rd via Casablanca/Republic. It is the end result of fourteen years of handwork. It leads off with "Down the Road" which kick starts things from the get-go. This song reached the top of the SNEP chart, the official French Singles Chart. It was also a hit in Belgium and the Netherlands. More recently, the group's song was featured in a Dr Pepper commercial.
Consisting of DJ Greem and MC 20Syl (from jazz-rap collective Hocus Pocus) and DJs Atom and Pfel (from electro hip-hop duo Beat Torrent), C2C are widely regarded as one of the most accomplished turntablist crews in the world. They combine electro-pop, jazz, and hip hop into one arresting aural cocktail.
Formed as Coups2Cross in Nantes in 1998, the quintet made its recording debut on Hocus Pocus' sophomore album Seconde Formule and went on to appear on the band's 2005 release 73 Touches and 2007's Place 54, but C2C made their name on the competition circuit, winning the Disco Mix Club World Team DJ Championships for a record-breaking four consecutive years (2003-2006) and the 2005 ITF Team Championships all the while building a burgeoning worldwide fan base. C2C is also a winner of the 2013 European Border Breakers Awards. The European Border Breakers Awards honor the best new music acts in Europe.
