Feb 17, 2013

American rock band, The Strokes will be releasing their fifth studio album, Comedown Machine via RCA Records on March 26th with a minimal cover design that resembles an RCA demo tape. The song "All The Time" will be the lead single from the album and it will be out on February 19th. Fans who pre-order the album at iTunes will receive an instant grat track of the first single, "All The Time." "One Way Trigger", another track off Comedown Machine, is currently available as a free download on their site.
Members of The Strokes include Julian Casablancas (lead vocals), Nick Valensi (guitar, backing vocals), Albert Hammond, Jr. (guitar, backing vocals), Nikolai Fraiture (bass guitar) and Fabrizio Moretti (drums, percussion). The band has released four studio albums, Is This it (2001), Room on Fire (2003), First Impressions of Earth (2006) and Angles (2011) which have sold over five million albums worldwide.
The band has headlined major festivals in the United States and UK, including the Isle of Wight Festival, Lollapalooza, Hurricane Festival, Splendour In The Grass, Rockness, Outside Lands, and Austin City Limits as well as sold out New York City's Madison Square Garden. The Strokes are known as being one of the most prominent indie-rock bands to hail from the US at the dawn of the 21st century and helped start the garage rock revival movement.
Though little is known about the songs on the new album, the band has reportedly been working on them ever since releasing Angles.
Bassist Nikolai Fraiture told Rolling Stone in June 2011 that the Strokes were "trying not to lose momentum by taking time off and having to reboot the whole system. We're bringing in parts and ideas," Fraiture said, "and kind of just working on those and trying to make sense of them."
