Canvasback Music/Atlantic recording group Grouplove has announced early details of their much-anticipated new album. Produced by the band's own Ryan Rabin, Spreading Rumors arrives in stores and at all online retailers on September 17th. This new album follows Grouplove's acclaimed 2011 debut, Never Trust A Happy Song, and it will be led by the new single, "Ways To Go." This single made its world premiere on Alternative radio station KROQ in Los Angeles and became available June 18th on the iTunes Store and all other major digital retailers. Additionally, a limited edition flexi-disc book, featuring the album's thirteen tracks on individual vinyl "pages," each with original artwork by Grouplove's Hannah Hooper will be exclusively available for pre-order on the band's official website.
Grouplove members include Christian Zucconi (vocals, guitar), Hannah Hooper (vocals, keys), Sean Gadd (bass, vocals), Andrew Wessen (guitar, vocals) and Ryan Rabin (drums). They came together in 2009 and soon were hailed as a great live act, both as headliners and at such international festivals as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Reading + Leeds Festivals, and Glastonbury. Never Trust A Happy Song arrived in 2011, making a stellar chart debut among the top 5 on Billboard's Heatseekers album chart for new and developing acts. Produced by the band's own Ryan Rabin, the acclaimed album was highlighted by the debut single, "Colours" which received critical acclaim and climbed to the top reaches at Alternative radio outlets nationwide. "Tongue Tied," the second single from Never Trust A Happy Song, proved an even greater success, earning RIAA platinum certification for sales in excess of 1 million while spending 3 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Alternative airplay chart. By year's end, the track had made history as Alternative radio's second most-played song of 2012.
Grouplove will introduce fans to Spreading Rumors with a series of upcoming live dates, including Milwaukee's Summerfest 2013 on June 26th; the KRBZ #listenlonger Appreciation Party in Kansas City, KS on June 28th; and Austin, Texas's annual Austin City Limits Music Festival, slated for two weekends, October 4th-6th and October 11th-13th.
