Blue October
Jun 30, 2013

The Platinum-selling Texans Blue October will release their seventh studio album entitled Sway via Up/Down Records, on August 20th. They will also be launching a major, 45-city-plus international concert tour on September 4th in New Orleans, LA. The tour will be preceded by several in-store appearances/acoustic performances as well as a CD release show at the House Of Blues in Dallas, all taking place the week of release.
Sway is Blue October's first album since 2011's Billboard Top 10 debut Any Man In America, and its 13 songs, all written or co-written by vocalist Justin Furstenfeld, embody the band's revitalized energy. The album was produced by Justin Furstenfeld and David Castell (who also produced the band's History for Sale and co-produced the Platinum Foiled), and was recorded at the Fire Station Studios in San Marcus, TX earlier this year. The album's track-listing boasts lush, impassioned songs such as "Bleed Out," "Angels In Everything" and "Fear," and the edgy rocker "Put It In."
As singer Justin Furstenfeld puts it: "This album is about why life is so beautiful. It's about facing fears and recognizing miracles every day. It's about enjoying yourself and realizing that life is not something you can half-ass."
Blue October members include Justin Furstenfeld/guitars, vocals, Jeremy Furstenfeld/drums, Ryan Delahoussaye/violin, viola, mandolin, piano, and Matt Noveskey/bass.
According to Justin, "I had about 60 songs...we ended up recording fifteen and there's thirteen on the album." Added Justin's brother Jeremy, "The band is in a really great space now, everyone is health, happy and doing well. That's changed our point of view, and you can hear that new perspective on the album."
On "The Sway Tour," Blue October - who will be joined by their former guitarist, C.B. Hudson who played with the band between 2000 and 2010 - will premiere songs from Sway, as well as perform fan-favorites from the band's six-album discography.
