The Red Paintings
Aug 25, 2013

Orchestral art rock group The Red Paintings have released their new single "Wasps" from their upcoming debut full-length studio album, The Revolution Is Never Coming. The band will release their highly anticipated record on October 1st via The End Records/CO5 Music. Recently, the music video made its premiere at mtvU: calling it "dark, cinematic and slightly disturbing...similar in spirit to NIN or 30 Seconds To Mars." The incredible video has already debuted at the Roswell International Film Festival.
After suffering a near-fatal seizure, visionary performer Trash McSweeney now sees colour in music and has set out to share with the world the ideas he has seen and felt. By taking to his guitar, piano and notebook, The Red Paintings were officially born upon the dawn of the new millennium.
Known for their visionary stage shows incorporating live art, human canvases, and theatrics, The Red Paintings are a multi-faceted genre-spanning act incorporating everything rock from alternative to punk to industrial. The current touring lineup includes Alix Kol (violin, vocals); Mitch McLennan (bass), Andy Davis (drums) and Emma Baker (cello).
Currently on tour in the U.K. including Y Not Festival and Rebellion Festival, the band recently wrapped a U.S. tour supporting ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead and will return to the U.S. in September & October to tour nationally in support of their new album. Following a sold-out U.S. theatre tour earlier in the year, The Red Paintings will once again join punk-lords Mindless Self Indulgence on their massive UK & Europe tour later this fall/winter.
