Canvasback Music/Atlantic recording artists Grouplove have announced plans to headline the 2013 Campus Consciousness Tour. Dates kick off at Kent State University in Kent, OH, on October 24th, and immediately follow the band's sold out "Seesaw Tour" and Austin City Limits Festival appearances. Joining Grouplove on the 2013 Campus Consciousness Tour are NYC-based, electronic duo The Knocks and F-Stop/Atlantic labelmates Saints of Valory, who recently released their debut Possibilities EP. Grouplove and The Knocks have collaborated on a new remix to herald the tour - Grouplove's "Ways To Go" (The Knocks remix). Half music tour, half environmental and social consciousness campaign, the annual Campus Consciousness Tour brings top musical acts to college campuses across the country in an effort to raise awareness about environmental and social issues. Past performers include fun., Drake, Janelle Monáe, Passion Pit, and Ben Harper among others.
The dates follow Grouplove's own "Seesaw Tour," featuring two-night stands in eleven cities across the country. The first night is electric; the second night is stripped down/acoustic, with all performances taking place in intimate settings, including legendary clubs, historic sites, and obscure or rarely used venues. After standing out at music festivals around the world, Grouplove will make their inaugural appearance at this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival.
Grouplove came together in 2009 and soon were hailed as a great live act, both as headliners and at such international festivals as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Reading + Leeds Festivals, and Glastonbury. Grouplove members include Christian Zucconi (vocals, guitar), Hannah Hooper (vocals, keys), Sean Gadd (bass, vocals), Andrew Wessen (guitar, vocals) and Ryan Rabin (drums).
The Los Angeles indie band's highly anticipated sophomore album, Spreading Rumours drops on September 17th.
