Los Angeles quintent Young The Giant have signed to Fueled By Ramen for the release of their hugely anticipated sophomore album, Mind Over Matter. It arrives everywhere on January 21st, 2014. This album is heralded by the electrifying new single, "It's About Time," available now. In addition, the track's companion video, directed by acclaimed visual artist David Vincent Wolf, is streaming now at Young The Giant's own website.
To help produce Mind Over Matter, Young The Giant enlisted Grammy-nominated producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, known for his work with such diverse artists as Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, and M83.
This forthcoming album follows their breakthrough 2010 debut, Young The Giant which proved a milestone for the Southern California-based band, earning them widespread acclaim, massive media attention, and an ever-growing fan following. Among its many highlights, Young The Giant featured such hit singles as "Apartment" and the RIAA gold certified smashes, "My Body" and "Cough Syrup." "My Body" was a top 5 hit at Alternative radio and closed 2011 as the year's fifth most-played song at the format. "Cough Syrup" drew even greater success, peaking at #2 at Alternative, and crossover chart success at both Hot AC and Triple A radio. Most recently, "Cough Syrup" was performed on the season premiere of NBC's top-rated show "The Voice."
Young The Giant spent much of 2011 and 2012 traveling the globe, with sold out headline tours, top-billing on mtvU's inaugural "Woodies Tour," and show-stopping appearances at such festivals as Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and Lollapalooza. A dynamic and distinctive live act, the band also made a range of high profile TV performances, spanning ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and NBC's TODAY and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to 2011's MTV Video Music Awards and their own edition of MTV Unplugged.
Young The Giant will celebrate the impending arrival of Mind Over Matter with eagerly awaited headline appearances at a number of upcoming radio concerts, including Providence, Rhode Island's 95.5 WBRU Birthday Bash on November 13th; Denver, Colorado's Channel 93.3 Not So Silent Night 2013 on December 1st; and Portland, Oregon's sold out "KNRK December To Remember" on December 6th.
