On October 29th, Texas natives, Close Your Eyes released their first album featuring new vocalist, Sam Robinson, entitled, Line In The Sand via Victory Records. The lead single from the album is the impressively catchy "Frame And Glass." With Robinson now lending his voice to Close Your Eyes, the songs have been given a rich depth that are likable and will provide the latest version of the band a new feel that will still bring in fans of their older work.
"We are very excited to finally be able to share with everyone that Sam Robinson is the vocalist of Close Your Eyes," said guitarist, Brett Callaway, according to a press release. "His voice is a very strong addition to the CYE family. He is an incredible vocalist and a great guy that shares our vision and purpose. We cannot wait for everyone to hear the new songs and to be back on tour again. Come hang out and say what's up to Sam!"
Close Your Eyes is a five-piece band that came into the spotlight back in 2010 with their debut album, We Will Overcome. They have since become a powerful force in the hardcore scene. They are inspired by their strong faith background, which fuel their lyrics. Although the band members are strong in their faith, they feel that it is important not to preach, but rather to simply be an example. After their second album, Empty Hands And Heavy Hearts, vocalist Shane Raymond departed from the band for health reasons. After a few months of searching, Close Your Eyes recruited new vocalist Sam "Ryder" Robinson to join them and record this latest album.
The band has toured with big names like A Day To Remember and Underoath. Recently, Close Your Eyes performed at the 2013 South By So What festival, in anticipation of the new season they were about to enter into with the addition of their new lead singer.
