Weezer have recently revealed the first single from their forthcoming, highly anticipated ninth album, Everything Will Be Alright In The End and it is entitled "Back To The Shack". It is an ebullient, slice of alterna-rock awesomeness. It became available for purchase on July 22nd. They played it for the first time on the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on July 23rd. The album, Everything Will Be Alright In The End, will be released on September 30th via Republic Records . It will for sure be a stand-out gem in Weezer's vast and varied catalogue, a reflection of a much-loved band at their very best.
Since forming in 1992, Weezer band members, Brian Bell (guitar/vocals), Rivers Cuomo (vocals/guitar), Scott Shriner (bass/vocals) and Patrick Wilson (drums) have released a myriad of celebrated, chart-topping albums, selling over 13 million records worldwide.
The band is best known for their successful singles "Buddy Holly", "Undone - The Sweater Song", "Say It Ain't So", "Perfect Situation", "Island in the Sun", "Beverly Hills" and "Pork And Beans".
Following an intensely prolific couple years at the end of the aughts, the band chose to deliberately dial down the tempo in 2010, a move singer/guitarist Rivers Cuomo says allowed him to write at a slower pace, giving the songs he wanted to use for an album the time to gradually grow into their final forms. When it came time to record the material, Weezer reunited with the man who helped them make some of their most iconic album-length work, Cars frontman Ric Ocasek.
Weezer is currently in the middle of a very busy tour schedule gearing up for the release of Everything Will Be Alright In The End. They will be making a stop in Los Angeles for the MADE IN AMERICA Festival and then heading all over the US.
