Australia's Violent Soho are set to release their third full-length album, Hungry Ghost, in the US on September 30th via SideOneDummy Records. In anticipation of the release, the band have shared two singles, "Covered In Chrome" and "Saramona Said." This third studio album, has already been certified "gold" in Australia in September 2014.
Formed in 2004, Violent Soho are from the Brisbane suburb of Mansfield, Queensland. They are a quartet, with Luke Boerdam on guitar/vocals, James Tidswell on guitar/vocals, Luke Henery on bass and Michael Richards on drums. Their sound has often been likened to the alternative rock music of the 1990s. From the band's beginnings, playing shows at suburban pubs and rehearsing and recording demos in their parents' garages; the band has grown not by striving to achieve musical extravagance or stability, but by being a real band, by keeping its own principle and belief and sense of mateship within itself.
This November and December, Violent Soho will embark on a giant national tour. The No Sleep Til Mansfield tour, proudly presented by The Music, sees the breakaway act tackle 23 shows over the two months, starting at the top of the nation with a performance at Darwin's Discovery on November 5th.
