"Get Closer" is the London quartet, Life In Film's first single released via +1 Records/300 Entertainment. Their debut album, Here It Comes, will come out this Spring. The single is packed to the brim with upbeat melodies, and melancholy lyrics masked by masked by jangly guitars. They worked with legendary producer Stephen Street (Smiths, Blur, Morrissey, Kaiser Chiefs) on "Get Closer" and it's easy to hear his influence in the track.
"The combination of reflective lyrics juxtaposed with lots of energy and layers in the music is probably what creates our specific sound," vocalist and guitarist Samuel Fry says.
Originated in Hackney, East London, Life in Film consists of members Samuel Fry (lead vocals, guitar), Edward Ibbotson (vocals, guitar), Dominic Sennett (vocals, bass), and Micky Osment (vocals, drums). They formed when lead vocalist Samuel Fry returned to London after studying at Bournemouth, reuniting with old school friend, Edward Ibbotson. Soon after, Sennett and Osment, both of whom Fry had met at Bournemouth University, moved to London as well in order to establish a proper beginning for their band. Following the release of their EP Needles & Pins in 2012, Life In Film garnered attention around the world and played sold-out shows throughout Europe.
Life In Film will begin touring a US tour this April with The Wombats.
