Wolf Alice

The north London four-piece, Wolf Alice, recently put out the single "Moaning Lisa Smile." It opens with a soft, plangent acoustic guitar line and quickly ups the volume but doesn't lose its pop appeal. It will be found on their debut full length album, My Love Is Cool, scheduled for release on June 23rd via RCA Records.
Singer Ellie Rowsell detailed the band's experimentation on the record, which will be their first release since 2014's Creature Songs EP. "It's 100 percent not a grunge record. It's a much braver record than that," Rowsell said. "There's a mix of genres on it. We're using our instruments in different ways, like Joff [Oddie] using his guitar as a synth. We've been making sounds that don't necessarily sound like guitar and experimenting with the way we use our voices. We've tried to match the emotion of the songs in how they're performed and recorded, tried to make a sad song really feel and sound sad."
Wolf Alice consists of members Ellie Rowsell, Joel Amey, Joff Oddie and Theo Ellis. They formed in 2010 They released their debut single "Fluffy" in February 2013, the "Bros" single followed this in May. In October 2013, they released their debut EP Blush. Fresh off a triumphant SXSW, Wolf Alice begin a headline US tour at the end of April.
