Slightly Stoopid

Slightly Stoopid have a new single, "The Prophet" from their upcoming album, "Meanwhile... Back at the Lab" to be released on June 30th through the band's Stoopid Records. The title and album cover reference the band's San Diego warehouse studio (The Lab at Stoopid Studios), where they have been working on numerous creative and collaborative projects. The sessions for "Meanwhile... Back at the Lab" began in late 2012, shortly following the band's seventh studio release "Top Of The World."
Slightly Stoopid also recently released "One Bright Day" featuring the band's friend and Grammy Award winner Angela Hunte (best known for co-writing "Empire State of Mind," with Alicia Keys and Jay Z).
Slightly Stoopid's Kyle McDonald (guitar, bass, vocals) explains the genesis of the song, "One Bright Day was a track we were just having fun playing the ukulele in our friend Jerry Wonder's studio (Platinum Studios NYC). We pressed 'record' and ended up tracking it. Our friend Angela Hunte, who is a very talented artist with an amazing voice, was in the studio hangin' with us and liked the song. (She) blessed it up with her beautiful voice and it was a wrap.... Good times hanging with good friends."
Slightly Stoopid members are McDonald, Miles Doughty (guitar, bass, vocals), Ryan "Rymo" Moran (drums), Oguer "OG" Ocon (percussion), Daniel "Dela" Delacruz (saxophone), Paul Wolstencroft (keyboards), Andy Geib (trumpet, trombone) with special guest and "unofficial 8th member" Karl Denson (The Rolling Stones/Greyboy Allstars) on saxophone. Based in Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, Slightly Stoopid have released ten albums (three live), with their seventh studio album entitled "Top of the World" in 2012. The band was originally signed by Bradley Nowell from the band Sublime to his label Skunk Records while still in high school.
Since forming, Slightly Stoopid has toured non-stop, and 2015 is no different. The band will kick off its "Everything Is Awesome" summer 2015 tour on July 8th and will hit 40+ cities in select outdoor amphitheaters and theaters before ending on September 19th. For this run Slightly Stoopid has enlisted Cali cohorts Dirty Heads, The Expendables and Stick Figure to join them on the trek.
