Veruca Salt

Veruca Salt is back! "Laughing In The Sugar Bowl" is the latest single from Veruca Salt via El Camino Media. Their forthcoming fifth studio album, "Ghost Notes" is due out on July 10th and it follows their 2006 record, "IV." More importantly, however, it serves as the first album to feature the original Veruca Salt lineup of Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Steve Lack, and Jim Shapiro in nearly 20 years. "Ghost Notes" was produced by Brad Wood, known for his work on Veruca Salt's debut, "American Thighs," as well as records for Liz Phair, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Ben Lee.
"It's miraculous to have this brand-new, beautiful chapter," Post says. "We never saw it coming, and yet, here we are. To be able to reconnect and play with these dear friends of mine who are like my family . . . it's such a gift. As meaningful as it is for our fans, it is that much more meaningful for us. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. Everything is where it's supposed to be."
The seeds of Veruca Salt were first planted in Chicago in 1991, when Post and Gordon were introduced by a mutual friend who thought the two should make music together. The band's original lineup released two album in the '90s: 1994's "American Thighs" and 1997's "Eight Arms to Hold You". Post kept the band going for several more years, but when Gordon left in 1998, the lineup changed a few times.
Veruca Salt recently announced a full US tour beginning in July in support of "Ghost Notes."
