"Run" is the latest single from the Nashville quartet Coin. It is off their self-titled debut album, released on June 9th via Columbia Records. The infectious song uses catchy beats and a lot of percussion and guitars. They recorded the album in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce (Cage the Elephant, Sleeper Agent, Emmylou Harris).
"'Run' is the story of our post-teenage [and] pre-adulthood ambition: the freedom of moving out of our parents' house, the angsty idea of 'anti 9-5,' and the possibility, although unlikely, of attaining success. Like the song, the video portrays that curiosity and ambition using exaggerated metaphors and lighting things on fire," the band explains.
Coin members include Chase Lawrence, Joe Memmel, Ryan Winnen and Zachary Dyke. They formed in Belmont University where Lawrence met Memmel in a music theory class. They later came into contact with bassist Dyke and drummer Winnen. They debuted in the music scene with infectious track "Atlas". Then in 2014, they signed a record deal with Columbia Records and Sony Music Entertainment, and began to shape their upcoming major debut studio album.
In support of their self-titled album, Coin will be touring throughout the US with Neon Trees in July and then with Walk The Moon in August.
