Hippo Campus
Aug 6, 2015

"Suicide Saturday" is the debut single from the Minneapolis' Hippo Campus via Grand Jury/INgrooves. It's a hooky pop-rock track off their "Bashful Creatures" EP. Director Balint Revesz's video features all four band members flailing around with confetti, paint splatter, and silly string. They will be releasing their new EP entitled "South" on October 2nd.
Hippo Campus first came onto the scene last fall with their debut EP "Bashful Creatures." It garnered comparisons to Vampire Weekend with their lack of guitar effects and vocalist Jake Luppen's Koenig-esque yelping. Guitarist and vocalist Jake Luppen, guitarist Nathan Stocker, bassist Zach Sutton and drummer Whistler Allen formed the indie rock group in 2013 and all graduated from high school within the past couple years at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists.
The quartet just played Lollapalooza and have gigs opening for My Morning Jacket, Real Estate and Modest Mouse coming up. Then, next month, Hippo Campus will be headlining their first ever shows around the US.
