Puscifer

Puscifer's new single "The Remedy" is off their third studio album entitled "Money Shot" due October 30th via the band's own Puscifer Entertainment. The creative ringleader Maynard James Keenan, best known as vocalist for the exploratory rock bands Tool and A Perfect Circle calls this his "creative menstrual cycle" ("When I start feeling the cramps, get the f*ck out of the way, 'cause I've gotta do something.")
Building on ideas he and multi-instrumentalist Mat Mitchell had floating around for three years, they recorded the album in a North Hollywood studio and in "the Bunker" of Maynard's Arizona winery, Caduceus Cellars; the entire thing mixed and mastered in time for this year's grape harvest.
The Puscifer lineup includes the core team of Mitchell on most of the stringed instruments and programming as well as atmospheric singer-songwriter Carina Round; keyboardist Juliette Commagere and Maynard's son Devo Keenan on cello. The album's unique pulses are provided by some of alternative rock's most formidable drummers including Tim Alexander of Primus, Jon Theodore of Queens Of The Stone Age and Jeff Friedl of A Perfect Circle.
"There was a little more schizophrenia with the first record," Maynard explains. "We were in hotel rooms, and we were recording in a different studio every day on the road, but the hardest part was, 'Okay, you've got two other bands; how do we make this third thing not sound like the others?' With the second [album], I felt we kind of settled into ourselves - and this one is more about me in that place, if that makes sense."
Maynard formed Puscifer in 2007. Puscifer has previously released two full length albums, "V" Is For Vagina" in 2007 and "Conditions Of My Parole" in 2011, several remix albums and a number of EPs.
Puscifer will be out on tour in November and December.
