"Hoops" is the latest single from the five-piece band, The Rubens. It can be found on their second studio album also titled "Hoops" which will be released on March 4th via Warner Bros. Records. Just as their self - titled debut album, The Rubens once again chose to record with Grammy Award winning producer David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Lana Del Rey, The Strokes), along with production heavy weight, Grammy Award winner Michael Brauer (Coldplay). The Australian release of "Hoops" has been incredible with the Australian fan reaction off the charts. The album and singles have topped the iTunes charts and debuted at #2 on the Aria charts. "Hoops" has been nominated for Triple J's album of the year.
Originally from Menangle, New South Wales, The Rubens consists of the three Margin brothers, Zaac, Sam and Elliott, and friends Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis. Their debut self-titled album "The Rubens" gained them domestic success with it reaching No. 3 on the ARIA Charts and being nominated for a J Award for Album of the Year.
In 2011, their debut single, "Lay It Down", was voted the 57th-most-popular song in the Triple J Hottest 100. Their next single, "My Gun", was nominated for Best Music Video in the 2012 ARIA Awards and was also voted 10th-most popular song in the Triple J Hottest 100.
