The Nashville-based band Mona are exploring a new sound on their recently released six-song EP titled "In the Middle" out now via Bright Antenna/ADA. This is the first release from the band in 3 years. The title track is called "In The Middle" and Mona front-man describes it as "an acknowledgment of dualism - good vs. evil or even just opinion vs opinion."
"The shades and layers of all things sexual , political, spiritual or whatever... are up to the individual and therefore in our world tend to get very controversial and very personal," he adds. "This song is toying with shedding those layers and having some balance. Enjoying the 'middle' which then leads to enjoying others and their differences."
Mona is made up Nick Brown (lead vocals & guitar), Vince Gard (drums & percussion), Zach Lindsey (bass & backing vocals) and Jordan Young (guitar & backing vocals). They rose to fame appearing as part of the BBC's Sound of 2011 poll; which was revealed in 2010. The band were also crowned the Brand New for 2011 title at the MTV Awards. Their debut album was released in 2012 in the US through Zion Noiz Recordings/Mercury Records.
In support of the new EP, Mona is touring the U.S. this fall.
