Inspired by the HISTORY CHANNEL Original Series, “The Food That Built America” I would like you to consider the artists that built your radio station…your ratings…your finances…your outreach…your fan base. More on that below.
If you’ve not seen the HISTORY CHANNEL series you can catch new episodes Sunday nights at 9p eastern. The show features brands who battled for supremacy during the past 100 years. Many of the new products were either created out of nowhere, used best practices from other industries, or had to overcome great obstacles. Coke verses Pepsi. Pizza Hut versus Dominos. McDonalds versus Burger King.
INVENT SOMETHING NEW OR ADJUST SOMETHING OLD
Every week during a new episode I think of our CCM industry and wonder how we could invent something new or adjust something old to make a deeper impact. I’ve not quite figured it out yet, but each show inspires me to keep thinking outside of the box. I wonder how many ideas you would come up with if you decided to watch.
HONOR, CHAMPION & RISK
I also wonder how artists, labels, and radio stations can continue to work together to honor our history, champion our core artists, and take a chance on new artists. It takes a leader to do those things, and our format has plenty of followers who are watching others take the risks. Only together can we grow the greatest message and the greatest songs Beyond the (615) and into your local community.
