Honestly, I should’ve written this a few weeks ago in order to be relevant, but it didn’t hit me until after Daylight Saving Time happened. Come to think of it, that’s the process during an air check session: you evaluate something from the past and then make adjustments for the future. Whew, now I feel better!
ONE TOPIC, MANY BREAKS
Here's one simple idea to make you super relevant, leading up to a big event or holiday. Simply bring one topic with several different points of view and you’ll have more material than you need. For instance, Spring Forward is one topic with MANY different perspectives that turn into individual breaks:
Extra caffeine needed.
Dogs wanting to go potty and wake you up.
Kids struggling to get out of bed.
You forgot to change the clock in your car.
Having grace for others adjusting. With each unique conversation, you may even receive listener calls that turn into more breaks. Now, apply the same concept to March Madness, Easter, Spring break, etc.
HERE’S THE TAKEAWAY
Every radio show will be talking about “today’s big topic” and you should be too. The beauty of several different POVs is that half of your show will not only be planned, but relevant. High five to working smarter!
