Having a listener call-in and join your show creates interaction. If the listener has a great personality and moves the story forward it’s a conversation worth hearing.
During that process it’s easy to use verbal crutches, or even worse, fall into a bad habit. For example, when you want someone to call-in and share their opinion you might always say the same general phrase like, “Here’s the number to call (give the phone number twice).”
Well, here’s a handy dandy cheat sheet of phrases to use before giving the phone number. Feel free to copy and paste or even print them out for the studio:
