PureNRG (2007)1) Introduce one another by using musical history and personality traits.
Jordan: He break-dances, sings and plays the drums; used to sing and dance in the trunk of the car; must stop at Smoothie King before every practice (description by Caroline Williams). Jordan has been one of my good friends for a long time. He and I have the same personality so we get along really well. We were dance partners at our dance studio for a duet one year (description by Carolyne Myers).
Carolyne Myers: She sings 24/7 whether at practice or not; loves Shania Twain; prefers spending time at home than on the road or practicing (description by Caroline). She has been dancing and singing ever since she can remember and she too wants to be in "Wicked", ha (description by Jordan).
Caroline Williams: She started when she saw her brother in musicals and she knew that that's what she wanted to do and still today she wants to be in the Broadway show "Wicked" (description by Jordan). This is my best friend, Caroline. She is hilarious and very talkative. She's always fun to talk to. She and I have dreamed of being Galinda (not Glenda) and Elfaba in "Wicked" on Broadway (description by Carolyne).
2) Give us a brief summary on how you guys signed with Fervent Records.
Caroline: We submitted a demo DVD of us singing and dancing "Walking on Sunshine." Susan Riley and Josh Bailey from Fervent called us in with our families to talk about our commitment to spreading God's word through our music. It was an immediate connection for all of us. Within a month we had signed our deal. Things have been moving really fast ever since then.
3) What is the key message to the self-titled record?
Caroline: The key message of our CD is that it is OK to believe in God. God is there for you and can help you through anything.
Carolyne: Leading others to the great things about Christ.
4) Who do you guys hope to inspire? What message do you want your audiences to walk away with?
Caroline: We hope to be a positive role model for people of all ages but especially kids our age. We want them to know that being a child of God is awesome and that no one can take that away from you. We want kids to be proud of their belief in God and not ashamed to tell others that they are Christian.
Jordan: We hope that we can just give them something fun and upbeat to listen to and still have a positive message. I think most of all we want to let kids and everyone know that God loves them and he's there for you whenever you need him and that they can always feel free to pray and get close to him.
Carolyne: We hope to inspire everyone who hears our music, young and old!
5) What music do you guys listen to?
Caroline: I like to listen to all types of music but my favorite is Broadway musicals.
Jordan: I like more of the rock stuff.
Carolyne: ALL MUSIC. Anything from pop to Christian to country. I love Shania
Twain, Miley Cyrus, Group 1 Crew and a new group, Cadia.
6) What are your touring plans?
We'll be out on Winter Jam 2008 in January, February and March.
7) Which song on the debut record would you consider to have the best message for your audience?
Caroline: "What If" because it gives kids our age the hope and knowledge that with God's love and strength you can do anything and that anything is possible.
Jordan: Probably "One Word" because the world needs a lot more love!
Carolyne: I would say "Thy Word" and "What If". "Thy Word" is about God's Word, the Bible, and following his Word is the only Way! "What If" because it talks about how God will love you no matter what, no matter who you are or what you do.
8) What's your favorite song to do live and why?
Caroline: "360" because the dance is cool and the song is upbeat. We like to start our set with this song because it really gets us and the audience going.
Jordan: "Pray" because I think it's always good to pray. It's just always good to spend time with our creator.
Carolyne: "Footloose" because everyone there always gets pumped, and they come up-front and a lot of the parents already know it and enjoy it!
9) How do you guys handle school work and touring?
Caroline: We all go to a tutorial program so our class time is limited (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Our homework, however, is not! We work hard to get most of it done before we go on the road on the weekends but we usually take math and reading along with us to do on the plane or the tour bus.
Carolyne: I've been home-schooling for four years now.
10) High School Musical: Would you try out for a role in the "HSM: The Movie"?
Caroline: Absolutely! I love HSM I and II, and I love to sing and dance. It would be a dream come true.
Jordan: Nahhh
Carolyne: OH YES! I would LOVE to be Gabriella! [Smile]
