LOVE (2008)
The Revolution (Fervent Records, 2005)1) Briefly introduce the band members using personality traits.
Sara: Energetic, soulful, extreme and feisty.
Charlie: The girl magnet but not a Cassanova, loyal, passionate about music and when he speaks up, listen because he'll have something good to say.
Marcus: Extreme, assured in his opinions, responsible, big brother
2) Offer a brief history of the band.
In 1999 we, Marcus and Sara (brother and sister), were asked to lead worship for our youth group. That opportunity moved us to form Inhabited in 2003 and we recorded an independent record "Innerview." From there Kyle Fenton got the record and promoted our first song "Rescue Me" to Rock radio and it hit the Top 10. We then recorded a project for Fervent Record and now we are with 7spinmusic.
3) What is Inhabited's main goal?
Hope, truth, love
4) Any interesting or funny radio experiences you can share?
We went into an interview and the lady conducting the interview talked the whole time, almost like she interviewed herself. Strange.
5) What's the story behind the single "Hush"?
This song is specifically for the girls. There is pressure to measure up to perfection and ideal. It affects all girls. I know about that pressure to find ways to fix yourself. We hear that we'll be acceptable or valuable then. Inhabited is all about saying that there is power and beauty in individuality.
6) What is the underlying message of the new album "LOVE"?
We sing mainly to young people with LOVE, and we feel like LOVE reaches out with a message that tackles issues but in a very positive way. It confronts but in a way that offers solutions. Inhabited is about being honest and discussing struggles but we aim to move people toward that light at end of the tunnel.
7) Which do you enjoy more: the process or the performance?
We love both but we do get to explore more in the process of making music. Any option is possible at that point. But at the same time in the performance you get to engage with the audience and that's a rush.
8) Were there any moments in the studio that made you guys sit up and say, "Now we have a record"?
That always happens on "mix day" for us. The cool thing for us this time is that we went in at the last minute and recorded "Hush" and that was the moment we finally said, "Yes, it's done."
9) What is your favorite song to perform live?
"Hush" or "One More Night"
10) If you were playing a label-wide game of kickball, and the last two kids waiting to be picked were Mallory DeWees and Michael Johnson, which one would you pick to be on your team and why?
Mallory is a real team player. Michael would take it and run with it. They would both be cheering us on.
Bonus Questions
1) Who would be a dream artist to record with?
Charlie: Johnny Cash
Sara: Janis Joplin
Marcus: Michael McDonald2) Favorite city to visit:
Anywhere in CA
3) Favorite road meal:
Sara: Jason's Deli
Marcus: J. Alexander's
Charlie: Olive Garden4) Any practical jokes on the road?
