10 Questions with ... MDSN

1. Brief History/Synopsis

MDSN is pronounced "Madison".

Well, I was born in Franklin, TN and I currently live in Dallas, TX. But I'm only 16... so 10 years in Dallas and 6 in Franklin. I've been raised in church all my life, on the road a lot.

I've actually never had a traditional job, haha! I've been singing with my parents for as long as I can remember, now by myself which is cool, too!

2. What does a normal day at home look like for you?

Um, well I'm homeschooled, but some of my friends are as well, a lot of them are even out of high school... So, I wake up, shower, wash my face, do all the girly, pampering get-ready stuff. Then I do school work for a few hours. After that, I like to either go to lunch with my parents or get together with some friends. I'm super obsessed with decorating my room right now... so I'm constantly looking for things to "finish it," when we all know it'll probably never be finished!

3. What's the song that you just can't get out of your head right now?

To be honest, I've been throwing it back with a little High School Musical lately... super crazy about that. Ha! I'm still a child. ;)

4. How much do you travel, what are the challenges?

I travel a few times a month, usually just for a weekend. And sometimes we throw in a songwriting trip to Nashville, which is usually 2 or 3 days. That's relatively often. I just run with it, really. I try and spend as much time as possible with my friends while I'm home.

5. What Artist or Pastor has had the greatest impact on you?

I honestly take most of my inspiration from my parents. I love them to death. I look up to them in every way.

6. What's the last book you read?

I genuinely despise reading, which is pretty funny because one of my brothers is a writer! I admire people who can enjoy reading.I think the last book I enjoyed was "A Wrinkle In Time." It has to really keep my attention for me to stick with a book.

7. Tell us about your new song, "Kerosene"

My goal is to just shed a light on Jesus. It's not "lame" to love Jesus, and He loves EVERYONE. I want people to know that God is accepting. I'm also working on more songs for a project that we'll release next year.

8. What organization/service group are you affiliated with?

I'm actually not affiliated with any organization at the moment, but would love to get connected in the future! I think it's important for people to see us living boldly for God, to see us showing the love of Jesus in very real ways.

9. Person you'd most like to have a discussion with, living or dead.....Deities are excused from this question

If fictional characters count, I'd say Rose from Titanic. I'd ask her why she didn't just scoot over a little bit to leave room for Jack when they were dying in the water.

10. Favorite Bible Verse....life verse?

1 Timothy 4:12 right now. I love how empowering it is for me and people like me.

1. How & When did you become a believer?

It feels as though I've always believed because I grew up in church surrounded by the things of God. I've had no excuse not to, experiencing all that I've experienced... I've loved, trusted and followed Jesus for as long as I can remember.

2. What's the biggest "God moment" you've ever experienced? Personally or professionally, when has God shown up in a powerful way?

I've had personal stories myself, but my favorite story isn't actually mine. When my parents were on a ministry trip with Tommy Tenney, the podium split in half during service. Crazy stuff.
