BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
(2000-2001) Attended Columbia School of Broadcasting in Washington, DC and graduated with a degree in radio and television announcing. (2000) Interned at Classic Rock WARW/Washington, DC. (2001-2002) I was an account executive at Verstandig Broadcasting in Greencastle, PA. (2002-present) I'm currently a board operator Salem Music Network WFFH/ Nashville. (2003-present) MD and afternoon drive personality WNAZ/Nashville. (2005-present) Marketing representative Ampedcreative and Hit Music Research in Nashville. (2005-present) Traffic producer and reporter Metro Networks in Nashville.
1) What was your first job in radio? Early influences?
I was an account executive at Verstandig Broadcasting in Greencastle, PA. They had Country, Classic Rock, Pop and News Talk stations.
2) What has made your show successful?
I have a very set routine and listeners love winning stuff.
3) Who do you feel is your competition in your market, and how do you go about competing with them?
We are one of three CCM stations in Nashville. Our stations plays over 55 minutes of some of the most progressive Christian music each hour.
4) What is your most memorable on-air moment?
My entire on-air experience so far has been memorable.
5) Best advice for making a show for a Christian station?
Read everything CCM that you can. Listeners love to know things about their favorite artist. And remember it's all about God.
6) If you were just starting out in radio toady, but you knew what you know now, would you continue forward?
Yes, I just never thought I would be working over 60 hours a week. Regardless, I absolutely love the positions God has blessed me with.
7) If you could have any job outside the music business, what would it be?
I have always wanted to be a park ranger.
8) Any favorite or funny artist run-ins?
I small talked with Michael W. Smith in a bathroom.
9) What is your favorite passage of scripture?
If God is for us, who can be against us!!
10) If you could ask god about anything, what would it be?
What's up with the duck billed platypus???
Bonus Questions
1) Do you read everything? Books, magazines, etc. Nothing? What is your favorite reading material?
If it's intriguing...I'll read it. When you work three overnights a week you read a lot. I like Christian fiction and read the CCM magazine front to back as soon as I get my hands on one.
2) Do you have musical guilty pleasures?
I'm a sucker for classic rock guitar solos.
3) Cat or dog person?
I have one of each but the dog doesn't hack hairballs on the carpet. So I guess a dog person
4) Describe your favorite meal?
A bushel of Maryland blue crabs, Grand Mom's potato salad and my Mom's lemon lush and of course anything my wife cooks rocks!!!!! I love you Jessie
5) If you were stranded on a deserted island, what 3 things would you want with you and why?
A bible so I can be constantly be in the Word. A cell phone with a solar charger to call someone to come pick me up, and a Chinese takeout menu (they'll deliver anywhere).
