BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:

1. What was your first job in radio? Early influences?
I was a junior in high school and I walked into a radio station and said I'd work for free if they would just teach me. We call those kids interns now! I made $2.15/hour! I grew up listening to Chicago radio and LOVED WLS (John Landeker and Larry Lujack.)
2. What does Christian Radio need to do in order to break through to a mass audience on a more consistent basis?
Relevance to a target.
3. What do you like best about your job? Least?
Are you kidding? We get to impact lives for Christ every day by doing something we love. Music has had a huge impact on my life and I'm thrilled that I get to be a part of music making a positive difference in someone else's life. The thing I like least is that I know there's so much more that can be done and I get a little impatient some times.
4. Who has had the biggest impact on these facets of your life: Personal, Professional and Spiritual? Why?
Dick Whitworth (KNWI) was my boss for 16 years and remains one of my closest friends. John Frost has taught me a ton about radio in the past few years, but he still hasn't taught me to love baseball.
5. Who is your favorite air/personality not on your air staff?
Lisa Williams is phenomenal!
6. What is your favorite radio station outside of your own market?
I think Z88.3 in Orlando is an amazing radio station.
7. If you were just starting out in radio toady, but you knew what you know now, would you continue forward?
Absolutely! Companies like Way FM who continue to shoot high and focus on ministry make this a very exciting time to be in our industry.
8. What book have you read that has touched you or taught you the most?
For ministry/business it has to be "Good to Great." Personally, I've become a fan of Joel Osteen and "Your Best Life Now." I'm also a huge fan of "Roaring Lambs" and anything by the late Bob Briner.
9. Which character in the Bible do you most relate to? Why?
David. His blatant honesty with God made him a man after God's own heart.
10. What is your favorite passage of Scripture?
Is. 26:3 - You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in You.
