1. Please tell us about your career journey?
Been in radio since 1996....in the beginning I started in news radio, traffic reporting, country and many other formats. I was saved when I was 26 years old.....that's when I began in Christian radio and haven't looked back. My career in Christian radio began in 2003 at The River in Columbus Ohio....from there I moved to Orlando and worked at Z88.3 WPOZ for the next 14 years. For the past couple of years I have been working from my home studio, voice tracking and voice over work.
2. Share the most challenging part of your career.
I would say the most challenging part of my career has been balancing being a working mom. I have been blessed to work for amazing bosses who have worked around my schedule. Having to leave your little ones is never easy.
3. The best coaching advice you've ever received was…
Best coaching advice I've ever received is: smile, be yourself and "for goodness sake don't be boring....never be boring.” (Tommy Kramer)
4. How do you continue learning and growing?
Growing spiritually is essential to being authentic...so I try to stay connected with other believers. I also listen to other talent and learn from how they approach communicating a break.
5. What’s one thing you wish you’d known about radio when you first started?
I wish I had known how fun it was going to be...honestly it's crazy to me that we get to have fun, share life and faith every single day. I feel like it's a secret we all have that we hope is never found out haha.
6. Tell us about someone in our industry who you really respect and why?
Any talent who is willing to put themselves out there every single day especially in today's environment...gets all my respect. I've gotten to see such great talent up close and personal....Tyler Mackenzie, Lisa Williams, Melony McKaye...the list could go on and on. These ladies have taught me not only how to do radio well but how to live life well.
7. What would surprise people most about you?
It might surprise some people that I'm an extreme introvert. I get very nervous to speak in front of a crowd. Behind the mic is ok.
8. What’s on your nightstand?
Probably a half empty can of La Croix, reading glasses and a little ceramic bird...to remind me not to worry.
9. What are you looking forward most in 2021?
To not wear a mask and get to travel internationally hopefully.
10. What do you do for fun?
At this point in my life I can finally say that I enjoy going to the gym...crossfit, walking, spending time with my husband and daughters.
