1. Please tell us how 2020 changed your relationships?
2020 made me realize how important relationships are. My wife and I took the opportunity to get to know each other even better than we had already, and it was one of the best seasons of our marriage.
2. Share the most challenging part of the past year.
Honestly, not knowing. Not knowing if what I do for a living was ever going to be the same. Not knowing when the next check was going to come in the mail. But through all of the “not knowing” I leaned in to the fact that God is my source, and my provider. When I filter life through that lens, everything else becomes easier.
3. Some really great advice you received recently was…
Just because something seems logically good to do, it doesn’t mean it’s God’s best or God’s will for you. So good.
4. How do you continue to deepen your relationship with Jesus?
It’s actually the same as any relationship. You have to spend time with someone if you want to get to know them. It may appear a little different, but taking time aside from your day to get away with God is vital.
5. Share about that new song of yours.
God says that we will soar on wings like eagles, we will walk and not grow weary, we will walk and not faint. This was a reminder that came at a time when I was trying to remember how to put one foot in front of the other again. The higher we go, the more the details fade away revealing the bigger picture. I believe this is the place God wants us to go with Him so that He can renew our spirit.
6. Tell us about someone who you really respect and why?
My wife, Annie. I’ve grown to respect her more and more each and every day by the way she carries herself in public and behind closed doors. She’s the same person in both scenarios. She carries herself with dignity, purpose, and a love that demands your attention. I’m constantly blown away with how she chooses to live her life.
7. What would surprise people most about you?
I don’t like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
8. What’s on your nightstand?
A picture of my wife and I at our wedding, my bible, and some jewelry
9. What are you most excited about this year?
To be with my girls! The twins just turned 1, and I’m so excited to watch them grow and learn new things
10. What do you do for fun?
I actually love movies. There’s something about turning your brain off for a bit to get lost in a good story. Also - the popcorn.
