1. Please tell us about your career journey?
Started at a small Christian station in central Pennsylvania in the mid 80’s. In 1988 moved to Louisville, KY to work at WXLN, Louisville as mid-day host and was promoted to assistant PD and morning show. Station sold in 1990 and I took a part time position at WJIE in Louisville and worked my way through all the day parts, Music Director, Assistant PD and then Program Director.
2. Share a moment in your career that you’ll always remember.
The day my boss honored me for 25 years at WJIE with a presentation before a concert. The entire team kept it a secret.
3. The best advice you've ever received was…
“Don’t call attention to your mistakes. Leave them in the past and move forward.”
4. How do you continue learning and growing?
Reading, listening to others in my field and attending conferences.
5. What’s one thing you wish you’d known about radio when you first started?
That it would be all consuming.
6. Tell us about someone who you really respect and why?
A former boss Jim Fraser. He always went the extra mile for his team.
7. What’s something about you that would surprise people?
I have a prosthetic leg.
8. What’s on your nightstand?
Lamp, clock, and several books I have started and not finished!
9. Finish this sentence: My day doesn’t start properly...
...before I have coffee.
10. What do you to unwind and chill?
Play with our Shorkie dog Pepper.
