1) How did you get connected with Razor & Tie? How has your journey unfolded in the last couple years?
We connected with Razor & Tie through our manager Mitchell Solarek of Maximum Artist Management. He called Beka Tischker, the head of A&R, and told her about the band. She liked the music, so here we are. We did a complete overhaul with our team since the last record. We have new management, new booking (TKO), a new label and new music. We feel that we are working with the best of the best.
2) What's the story behind the new single "Lately"?
"Lately" is a hard rock tune about letting go of negative thoughts and things of the past.
3) What message do you hope is conveyed on the new album "Losing All"?
I don't think I can sum up the album with one message. This record is more like a journey. There are songs about heartache, drug addiction, love, life, death, relationships and spirituality.
4) Upcoming tour plans? What's on the books?
We are going out with Cold and Nonpoint in February, and we are patiently waiting for Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, STP, and The Cult to take us out on tour.
5) As you were in the studio recording the new record, did you have an "ah-ha" moment when you thought, "Now we have a record - and this is good!"?
We knew before we walked into the studio that we had songs that were special. These songs were written over a two-year period. We experienced a lot during that time. We wrote the kind of songs we would like to hear on a rock record. It ain't a corporate rock record; it's rock n roll from the gut.
6) What's your favorite song to perform live?
So far all of them.
7) As you leave the stage, what do you hope the audience takes home with them, other than a CD or t-shirt?
I hope that people are moved by the tunes like we are. I hope when they leave our shows they feel like they are not alone.
8) What is your favorite city/venue to play?
It's been quite awhile since we have done any heavy touring. Let me get back to you on that one in 2011.
9) Do you have any humorous or interesting stories from radio visits?
All radio station visits are quite a hoot. I especially like the ones that are spinning the new record; those are my faves.
10) Do you have much time to check out other artists' music? What are you listening to right now?
I just broke out all my Cult CDs and I dig the music and message of Muse.
