BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
I have always lived a peripatetic life. From the time I was big enough to wear the hat, I have went where I was needed most. Some days I just travel in a big circle and others I end up miles from where I began. I ran into the gentlemen in MercyMe one sunny afternoon while they were changing a blown tire on their bus. I helped them out and we have been friends ever since.
1) Mr. Lovewell, tell us a little bit about this campaign to "love well." Why is it important?
Wouldn't it be grand if we could all really believe and put into action the thought that the needs of others are more important than our own. I believe that at least reminding people that there are great needs and great opportunities to love and help could turn into a movement that I really hope changes the world.
2) Mr. Lovewell, what you do think about the current MercyMe hit "All of Creation"? Does that song hold special meaning for you?
Ahh, I love those boys! I believe that it is always fitting to start a new relationship by stating what you believe in the most. This was the first song I heard from them and it has been the basis for and soundtrack to our friendship. May we live everyday laying our burdens down for the glory of God!
3) Mr. Lovewell, do you have a favorite story of "loving well" from recent days, as the MercyMe guys have started spreading the word?
Each story has an impact unique and is its own. Whether it's bringing joy to a young boy with cancer who just wanted to see snow or fixing a car for someone that lost their job. I don't think that I'll ever not be amazed at what love can do.
4) Mr. Lovewell, have you gotten a good wholesale deal on red balloons?
Well, let's just say I have pockets full of them! And a few stowed away in the hat for special occasions.
5) Mr. Lovewell, how can radio get more involved in "loving well"?
You know, one of the most encouraging things about this movement has been to find out all that radio is already doing! Just keep using the airwaves to fill needs and encourage others to do the same.
6) Mr. Lovewell, how can we encourage folks to keep this campaign of "loving well" going?
If we will all just keep in mind to put the needs of others first and to keep an eye open for the everyday opportunities to give of yourself, I don't think this movement will ever die.
7) Mr. Lovewell, where did you get that hat?
It has been with me since before I can remember. I have the hat and the hat has me.
8) Mr. Lovewell, where can we find you in upcoming days? Do you travel with MercyMe? Where is MercyMe going to playing?
I do spend time with the boys occasionally. They are all over the country the rest of the year. I think they have a nice list of all their show dates written down somewhere......?
9) Mr. Lovewell, do you have a favorite MercyMe song?
Why, "The Generous Mr. Lovewell," obviously!
10) Mr. Lovewell, what is your favorite breakfast food?
One bowl of oatmeal with a dash of honey and one sliced banana. Two poached eggs. Two slices of whole-wheat toast with butter and strawberry jam. Three big slices of French toast sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. One bowl of in-season berries. A few slices of fresh cheese. Perhaps some bacon. And to wash it down 16 ounces of water, one glass of orange juice, and a nice strong cup of coffee. I do walk a lot you know.
