1) Talk a little about the process of recording "Christmas! A Newsboys Holiday"? When do you find time to record a Christmas record?
Duncan Phillips: We recorded the Christmas album in about a 3-week period. It was very fast!
2) How did you narrow down which songs to include on "Christmas! A Newsboys Holiday"?
We asked a few radio stations what songs they would like to see us record and we picked a few that had not been recorded in a while that were our favorites.
3) Is there a band favorite on the album? One that everyone loves?
"Jingle Bell Rock"
4) What is your all-time favorite Christmas song? Is it different from #3?
Yes, it's "Silent Night."
5) What is your favorite Christmas memory?
One of my favorite Christmas memories was in 2001 when we announced we were expecting our first baby (Taylor) by wrapping up pacifiers and giving them to my in-laws.
6) Do have any specific family Christmas traditions?
We always go to candlelight service on Christmas Eve, which is beautiful and really brings the meaning of Christmas close to our hearts. We wake up early on Christmas morning with the three kids (Taylor, Madison and Jack) and celebrate at home before heading to Grandmommy and Granddaddy's house.
7) What is one thing you hope that Santa brings you this year?
Play Station 3!!!
8) What are some of your favorite Christmas albums?
Of course it is "Christmas! A Newsboys Holiday." Ha! Seriously though, I don't really listen to much Christmas music.
9) Do you have any Christmastime tour plans?
We hit the road the weekend after Thanksgiving with NewSong for the "Very Merry Christmas 2010" tour. We're visiting 20 cities and finish in Florida right before Christmas. Our website (newsboys.com) has the most updated tour dates so check it out and come out to a show!
10) If you could travel anywhere in the world to spend Christmas, where would you go and why?
I would go back to Australia to see my family.
