Poema
Jan 31, 2011
Poema is raising money for Exodus Cry, an organization devoted to raising awareness to help end Human trafficking and slavery, by donating 20 personal items from their closet for "A Piece of Poema" charity event in conjunction with October Moon Boutique. "A Piece of Poema" begins February 1 and runs through the entire month. The dresses, tops, skirts, shoes and accessories have been worn by sisters on tour, in photoshoots or in their music videos. Each week five new pieces from their wardrobe will go up for sale online at October Moon Boutique.
"Nobody wants to think of slavery as an issue anymore," says Poema's Shealeen. "I think that maybe we want to believe that it is a thing of the past and not a modern day occurrence. The sad truth is that human trafficking is a worse epidemic than it has ever been. Elle and I chose to support Exodus Cry because we want to be a part of what they are doing. They help people in different cities all over the world experience the freedom we have taken for granted all our lives, and we would love to be involved by supporting them and praying for the different cities and countries that they are reaching!"
