It has been amazing how well station staffs have pulled together as a team during COVID-19. The current atmosphere is the opposite of what it was like when I worked at a station with two feuding air personalities who nearly caused a staff fist fight.

One of my favorite stories involved two personalities who were staff mates of mine back in the day. Since I was not the PD, I got a chance to observe the “tactical warfare” they employed to try get each other fired. Thankfully, no lasting injuries were sustained, and the PD finally sat with management and told them they needed to get rid of both personalities. The afternoon drive guy held on to his job because he had great ratings and the in-house rival got the boot.In The End …
Sometimes creative people can crumble under adversity as we did at that station. This pandemic has given us all the opportunity to see what teamwork is supposed to be. -
