You Aren’t Taking CBD? Where Have You Been?

Welcome back to Conversations With Kendall. Let’s dive right in and talk CBD!! Cannabidiol, aka CBD, is a phytocannabinoid that was discovered in 1940. It is one of 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant's extract, WHOA, pretty serious.
My feeling is that CBD is underutilized. I didn’t realize how versatile CBD was until my interest was sparked while reading an article, just like this one, about all of the amazing long-term and short-term benefits that CBD can provide, for everyone.
I’m sure we have all seen those incredible videos of Parkinson’s victims uncontrollably shaking until they receive a few drops of CBD under their tongue, and they miraculously become still. If not, perhaps you’ve seen the videos of the dogs having seizures. They are administered a few drops of CBD, voilà, the dog returns to his normal state immediately.
My point with these examples is that I think these advertisements are demonstrating extreme medical issues that you may or may not have. Don’t be mislead, even a perfectly healthy person can benefit from CBD. While you may not be experiencing severe medical issues, don’t think you aren’t a prime candidate to benefit from CBD.
Continuing with the universality of CBD, we all have stressors in life. Stress is our reaction to change or demanding situations.
C’mon, change is constant, and so are situations that are out of our control. Therefore, a stress free life does not exist, I know that sounds bleak, BUT don’t stop reading yet, we can healthily cope with our stress and feel easy breezy as ever with the help of a little CBD.
CBD’s main benefits are stress relief, sleeping aid, and relief of inflammatory pain. Honestly, I think I have all of these things; I’m a total hypochondriac, but really, I’m pretty sure that I have all of this.
We humans have an incredible system in which our body mirrors our mind and our mind mirrors our body. A study called Psychoimmunology suggests that the mind and the body are inseparable. It asserts that stress affects the body's ability to resist disease. Studies have shown that people who are more stressed are also ill more often and for longer periods of time.
We should always be working to keep our mind and body healthy and disease-free. Not to make this about COVID-19, but what a stressful predicament to be in, especially while we need our bodies to be ready to fight for us. Man, I’m ready to not talk about coronavirus in every conversation that I have, that’s the only tidbit, I swear!!
With the aid of CBD, we just might be able to cope with the inevitable stressors of life in a more free and easy way. I’m constantly striving to be less stressed, i.e. healthier according to Psychoimmunology.
I know what all of my drug-tested workers are thinking. “No way can I even think about taking a supplement derived from marijuana.” WRONG!! Not all CBD contains THC. CBD can be derived from either hemp or marijuana. Beware; some CBD does contain THC but not all. Do your research before taking any products.
This brings me to my next point. Even though CBD was discovered more than 20 years before THC, THC has dominated the cannabis market. It has also conditioned people to associate all marijuana-derived products with THC.
I have heard a few people verbalize their concern of getting “high.” When we hear THC we think psychoactive, that is not always the case. Even in CBD that contains THC, it is only permitted to contain .03% THC. To put that into perspective, a THC infused edible contains anywhere from 10-100mg of THC-- goodnight. You won’t be flyin’ on .03%, in fact, you won’t feel the high effect at all. THC can really amplify the benefits of CBD, an unnecessary addition if you’re not into that.
I’m going to leave you with one last piece of advice. Most CBD products are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. As a result, it’s difficult to know what’s in them, even if these products are legal in your state. You just have to do your research and get a CBD oil that is right for you, just like we would any other supplement we may start taking.
Of course, I have some incredible CBD options for you. Shoot me an email, I’d love to help you find the right product for you.
I hope we are all going to be full of CBD and living our best life from here on out!!
