Please outline your radio career so far:
Teddy is known best as bassist, writer, vocalist and one of the founding members of the Country super-group, Alabama.
1) Is "Songs 4 Worship: Country," the first Country/Christian project that you have worked on?
No. We (Alabama) released our Songs of Inspiration CD, which was our first release since our farewell tour wrapped up in October 2004. It was also our first new release with inspirational content in the group's history.
2) Can you give us some highlights on working this multi-artist project?
The highlights were getting to hang out with my old friends and spend some quality time together. In the past we were all touring and recording, etc. so we only saw each other in passing.
3) It seems the lines between Country and Christian music are narrowing. What are your thoughts about this?
I don't think the two were ever really that far apart. Country music and the major Country acts have always had undertones of religion and spirituality.
4) Was it tough to leave the super-group, Alabama?
I never left - I mean we didn't break up or anything. We just quit touring.
5) Do you still live in Fort Payne, Alabama?
Yes.
6) Tell us about the co-producer on "Songs 4 Worship: Country," Michael Curtis- has he done anything that the readers might be familiar with?
Michael Curtis was the mastermind behind the idea of mixing the Country artists with the praise and worship songs. Curtis is a well-known songwriter and is also actively involved with the praise and worship music at this church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. I became friends with Michael several years ago and he asked me to come on board to co-produce this CD with him.
7) What are your plans for the future? Are there any Alabama reunions in the works?
I'll continue to work with new upcoming artists and songwriters who glorify God. As for Alabama, we have been working on the Live Farewell Tour CD for Cracker Barrel.
8) Did working on this project have any effect on your spiritually?
Yes, it did. I don't think you could do a project like Songs 4 Worship without being touched by the songs and the artist's delivery of them.
9) There are some stellar performances on the CD. What are your favorites?
I like them all.
10) How much time do you spend writing songs now? Do you enjoy the producer role?
I write every week, and yes, I love producing. It's nice to have the time to do it now, and I really enjoy the creative process.
Bonus Questions
1) What is your favorite Alabama song?
Blessing, The Fans, the songs about my kids.
2) Who is your favorite current Country artist? Christian artist?
