1. Tell us a little about your new project- "One Man's Crazy."
One Man's Crazy is my new album; it's actually my first release in four years. It is the title cut, and is a good reflection of my philosophy about many things in life. It says one man's crazy is another man's cool. Just be you, be who you are, some will like you, some will not, but at least you'll like yourself.
2. We've heard that you're into soccer. Did you ever think of going pro?
Yes, I love soccer. I played on scholarship in college and played for The Dynamo for a brief period, before deciding to come to Nashville. My coaches always told me I could play overseas, but I never tried, who knows maybe I'll get back in shape and try for the next US World Cup team. I'm rooting hard for them, but like everyone else was very disappointed with their play thus far. We just don't seem to have a goal scorer with that take no prisoner, score at all cost attitude. Any successful team I've ever played for had that player; unless he's hiding on this US World Cup squad, I think we could be in trouble against Italy. But I really do want us to win very badly, so I hope I'm wrong.
3. Who are you (were you) rooting for in the World Cup?
I was rooting for the US to win in the World Cup. I was really disappointed we didn't have a better performance, tactically, I don't agree with our coach (but hey one man's crazy is another mans cool). I hope that in the future we can do better in International play. It's frustrating because the World Cup only happens once every four years.
4. You're a singer/songwriter, which to you is more important?
They are equally important, I love singing. I love songwriting, but there is something magic about creating something from nothing thing that can have impact on people, that's an awesome feeling.
5. How old were you when you decided that you wanted to have a career in music and what do you think you would be, if you weren't an artist?
I guess I decided in my twenties that I could make a living writing and singing songs
6. Who are your favorite artists/songwriters? Any format.
Some of my favorite music or things I'm into now, I love Martin Sexton, and he's killer. I also like a lot of Motown writers, producers and singers. They had such an elegant simple-ness that came through in all aspects of that golden era.
7. Who has most influenced your life?
Everyone and everybody I've ever heard liked or disliked has been an influence on me. It never stops and that's good.
8. Are you going to tour behind this album?
Yes, absolutely I'm going to tour behind this album. We are just ramping up, the album hit national release on the 4th of July so I'll be out there touring hard in support.
9. What do you like more, playing live or recording?
I love recording records because you in turn get to go out and play the new music live and that's awesome.
10. What CD is in your car player right now?
Jane's Addiction- Porno For Pyros and some other fun stuff.
