Elvis Presley
Aug 16, 2010
To commemorate what would have been Elvis Presley's 75th birthday earlier this year (January 8th), RCA/Legacy Recordings will be releasing "The Complete Elvis Presley Masters," a limited edition, individually-numbered deluxe set with 30 CDs. Each CD contains all 711 master recordings released during Elvis' lifetime, sequenced in chronological order.
The box set also includes additional masters, alternate takes, session outtakes, demos, rehearsal jams, home recordings, live performances and radio recordings. Fans can pre-order the collection now at www.CompleteElvis.com in advance of the October 19th delivery date. There will only be 1,000 numbered sets available for sale worldwide in this limited edition first run.
In addition to the CDs, the box set will also contain a 240-page hardbound reference book to complement the music, with research done by compilation producer Ernst Mikael Jorgensen and co-written by award-winning author and Elvis biographer Peter Guralnick (who wrote "Last Train To Memphis - The Rise Of Elvis Presley" and "Careless Love: The Unmaking Of Elvis Presley"). Each song listed in the book features background stories and historical context, along with release dates, chart positions, recording dates and locations, full musician credits, technical notes and more.
